HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN TELEPHONE
ADVICE?
Your doctor would be happy to discuss,
or advise on, some matters over the telephone.
We would, however,
request that if possible your name, telephone number and a brief explanation
of what the problem is should be left with the receptionist. This will
then be passed on to your doctor.
The best time to call is at the
end of morning surgery or before the start of afternoon surgery. Please
avoid calling during surgery hours if possible.
HOW
DO I...
MAKE
AN APPOINTMENT?
TEL: 744644
We
operate an advanced access appointment system, which means that all patients
will be offered an appointment to see a member of the primary health care
team on the day that they phone. If your own doctor is not available
an appointment will be offered with another doctor or one of the practice
nurses. Appointments can be made in person at reception during surgery
hours or by telephone.
We try to keep to appointment times but
some problems may take longer than usual and the doctor may occasionally
be called out to an emergency. You may therefore be seen later than your
appointment time. Please be patient and understanding.
Patients
requiring an appointment with a doctor in the morning should phone or
call in at 8.30am. For appointments in the afternoon they should phone
at 2.15pm. The appointment desk is closed between 12 noon and 2.15pm.
If you have special circumstances (eg working away) pre-booking appointments
are available on three evenings a week.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN A
HOME VISIT?
The doctors would prefer to see you at the surgery where all the
necessary equipment and resources are available. If, however, you are
genuinely too ill to come to the surgery, the doctor will visit you at
home. Please try and telephone before 10.00am if you need a visit as this
helps us to plan the workload for the day.
HOW
DO I...
OBTAIN
TEST RESULTS?
To receive the results of blood tests, urine tests etc, please telephone
your usual surgery between 2.30 and 4.30pm on 744644.
